1.       Caused by bacteria called Mycobacterium tuberculosis

7.       Symptoms: cough lasting more than three weeks (with blood), Chest pain, lethargy, weight loss, loss of appetite
8.       Risks: Family member or colleagues TB disease, common in areas in Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin America, Asia
9.       Prevention: vaccination: bacillus Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG)

Hepatitis B Facts




1.       It is an infection of liver
2.       Caused by hepatitis B virus
3.       Leads to liver failure
4.       Causes Transmission of this disease occurs through contact with blood (needles / syringes contaminated with disease-ridden blood)
5.       Diagnosis: Jaundice –yellow skin and eyes and brown urine, itchy skin fatigue, nausea, inflamed liver
6.       blood test to check high levels of liver-associated enzyme alanine aminotransferase (ALT)
7.       As many as 1.4 million people in the U.S. are carriers of the virus
