4.      Headquarters: Langley, Virginia
5.      Budget classified. Approx. $19 billion (2018)
6.      CIA has no law enforcement function. It is primarily dedicated on overseas intelligence gathering, with only limited domestic intelligence collection.
7.      CIA is the only agency authorized for covert action.
8.      Office of Strategic Services (OSS) (intelligence agency established in 1942 during World War II but was abolished after the war) was the precursor to the CIA.
9.      In 1947, President Truman signed the National Security Act instituting the CIA.
